🗓️ Today, 25.11., is the International Day for the Elimination if Violence against Women.

💡In general terms, violence against women manifests itself in physical, sexual, as well as psychological terms. This includes, for example, sexual violence and harassment, human trafficking, female genital mutilation, or even child marriage.

🏛️ Today, only around 5% of government aid is focused on tackling violence against women and girls, with less than 1% directed to its prevention. This is a big issue, as 1 in 3 women experience some kind of violence, according to the UN.

💙 We in EMSA Turin stand behind this cause and hope for more and better solutions for the issue of violence against women!

🩸What is AVIS? AVIS (Associazione Volontari Italiani del Sangue) is a non-profit and charitable organisation for blood donation, bringing together over a million volunteer blood donors across Italy.

🚑Don't miss it: the bloodmobile will settle at Polo Didattico from 8:00 am to 11:30 for two days straight (10th and 11th May). Please come to register before 10:30!

Gruppo di Torino, together with SISM Torino, present the 7th edition of the
*CLINICHE SENZA FRONTIERE* WORKSHOP 💪🏼

The event is divided in two phases:
1️⃣in the first phase experts of MSF will share their *experiences* on the field, showing practical examples of what they have done in the Countries with Limited Risources

2️⃣the second phase is more *interactive*.
It involves the solution of real clinical cases on behalf of the students (the diagnosis will be achieved also through the pictures and comments provided by the doctors that have followed the specific patients).
By the end the students will be able to determine the best therapeutic approach.

Throwback to our "PANIC...At work" conference about Stress and Burnout.

📎 Professor Maina and Doctor Bramante, who are both psychiatrists at the San Luigi Gonzaga Hospital, explained the clinical aspects of burnout, anxiety and stress.

📎Doctor Caterina Portaluppi, psychologist, walked us through useful tips and tricks to live a less stressful university life as medical students, navigating through exams, rotations and personal life.
She provided us with advice on healthy sleep, dietary habits, on moving our bodies. She suggested new ways to manage stress such as mindfulness, meditation and breathing techniques.

The moment you were all waiting for is here!🎉

After the Covid pandemic SuTurin is finally coming back!

SuTurin is a peer to peer suture workshop with the scope of enhancing the general knowledge on handling wounds as well as ones basic suturing skills and hand dexterity.

On day one, we will cover the basic theory regarding wounds and sutures and introduce basic sutures on a silicone pad. In addition, we will also go over how to do some manual knots!

On day two, you get to practice what you learned on a pig leg!
